Perennial Peanut Hay For Sale

Perennial Peanut or Rhizoma Peanut is a small stem leafy legume.  Early planting of this legume (30 years) continues to grow.  During this time Perennial Peanut has shown no plant diseases.  Perennial Peanut being a legume as is Alfalfa is sometimes referred to as  Florida's Alfalfa.

In studies by the University of Florida, daily voluntary forage intake, body weight gain, fiber (NDF) and digestibility (IVOMDI) are superior to Alfalfa.  Crude protein (15% to18%) and minor elements are similar to Alfalfa depending on the grower's expertise.

Our farm is located in Lake County, Florida.  We first planted cultivars from the University of Florida in 1986 and have since continued to plant.

We grow two cultivars and square bale two cuttings per year.  Our hay is barn stored, clean and weed free.  We try to maintain a supply from fall to spring.
